Kwanza Sul Cement Factory (FCKS) plans to increase the cement production with a new 1500tpd line to raise total installed capacity to 6000tpd. FCKS entered the Angolan market in February 2014 and produces the ‘Yetu’ brand of cement. Most of its customers are located in the Benguela region.
Speaking to ANGOP, at ExpoIndustry, which ended on Friday in Luanda, Tambwe Mukas, the executive director of FCKS, said the introduction of a new line will enable greater productivity and marketing of the product at a lower cost.
"Right now the plant is [operating at] 50 per cent of its production and it is believed that by the end of the year it could reach between 75 to 80 per cent of their installed capacity," he said.
There are also plans to open another centre in Huambo province in the country's central region.
"Our ultimate goal is to be leaders in the southern region in terms of distribution of cement, since the brand 'Made in Angola' has great quality," he said.
