Lafarge Republic Incorporated (LRI) inaugurated a new cement mill in its Teresa plant, Rizal, the Philippines, on Wednesday.

The new Fives FCB Horomill has a cement capacity of 0.85Mta and raises output at the Teresa plant to 2Mta.

“We aim to keep the country abreast with the latest technology and support the country’s growth,” Renato Sunico, president of LRI told local press.

Cement capacity is also being increased at the cement producer's Norzagaray plant in Bulacan, the contract for which has also been awarded to Fives FCB.

LRI currently has a capacity of around 6.5Mta with another 0.85Mta expected to be added when the new mill in Norzagaray becomes operational. The project is expected to be finished by year-end.
