Prosperity Indonesia, an engineering company from Hong Kong, plans to build its second cement plant worth US$400m in Tuban, East Java, at the end of this year, the Jakarta Globe reports.
“The second plant in Tuban will provide the domestic demand of cement. Exports will be implemented if the domestic demand is strong,” said He Yunfeng, Prosperity Indonesia general manager, told the daily newspaper.
Prosperity expects to complete construction of its second plant in the next two years. The company has built its first plant in South Kalimantan for US$300m. It has a capacity of 3200tpd but is facing short supply of electricity, according to the report.
