Bangladesh, Indonesia and Taiwan remained among the largest importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement in the first quarter of this year, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Bangladesh accounted for the largest amount with 1.83Mt of cement worth US$70.13m, followed by Indonesia with 828,317t worth US$37.1m and Taiwan ranked third with 272,396t worth US$11.71m.

Next in line was the Philippines with 239,900t worth US$9.46m, and Laos with 115,701t worth US$9.28m.

Vietnam reaped $198 billion from exporting clinker and cement between January and March, down 26.8 per cent YoY in value and 28.6 per cent in volume, including 1.66Mt in March worth US$71.07m.

In 2014, the country exported 21.11Mt of clinker and cement worth US$912.45m in 2014, up 13.4 per cent from a year earlier in volume and 16 per cent in value.
