Production of building materials in Uzbekistan increased by 11.3%

According to the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the construction materials industry produced goods worth UZS2.1098trn (US$427m) in January-June period of the current year, which is 11.3 per cent more than in January-June of 2014. The share of construction industry output was 5.2 per cent.

Compared with the same period last year, large enterprises have increased production of the following key products: Portland cement (112.6 per cent), gravel (108.6 per cent), sand (109.8 per cent), marble, travertine, alabaster and derivative materials (133.5 per cent).

At the same time the production of gypsum (107.7 per cent), lime (134.9 per cent), concrete (280 per cent), building mixes (360 per cent) was also increased over the same period.
