Vietnam's sales of cement and clinker are predicted to rise 4-7 per cent YoY in 2016 to between 75-77Mt, according to forecasts by the country's Ministry of Construction (MoC).
Of the total sales, domestic shipments are expected to account for 59-60Mt and exports 16-17Mt, the Xay Dung online newspaper cited the ministry as saying Wednesday.
In the first 10 months of this year, dispatches totalled 58.6Mt, meeting 80 per cent of the full-year target. Domestic shipments amounted to 45.51Mt, an increase of eight per cent YoY. Meanwhile, exports fell 22 per cent to 13.15Mt, meeting 62.4 per cent of the full-year target.
The MoC estimates that overall sales in 2015 will reach 71.5-72Mt. Sales to the Vietnam market are expected to amount to around 55-55.5Mt, rising 9-9.5 per cent YoY and fulfilling this year's target. Clinker exports are likely to fall 19 per cent to 16.5Mt, meeting 85 per cent of the whole-year target.
