Colombia January cement consumption up 3%

In January 2016 Colombia’s cement market expanded by three per cent to 0.956Mt from 0.928Mt in the same month a year earlier, according to latest data from country’s statistics office, DANE.

Growth was particularly strong in Córdoba (+44.1 per cent), Risaralda (+42 per cent), Norte de Santander (+33.5 per cent) and Valle del Cauca (+10.7 per cent).

Cement production increased 7.3 per cent YoY to 0.966Mt in January, from 0.9Mt in January 2015.
