25 January 2017

Société des Cements Sigus, a subsidiary of Groupe Industriel des Cements d'Algerie (GICA), has placed an order with thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions for a new 6000tpd plant. The plant will be located in Sigus, Oum El Bouaghi, around 340km east of Algiers. This order follows a previous contract with GICA for a 6000tpd plant which was signed in 2013.

The main components of the order include a 1600tph primary crusher, a 500tph secondary crusher for additives, a 75,000t circular blending bed, two QUADROPOL QMR² roller mills with an output of 2x300tph, and a 30,000t homogenising silo. The kiln system consists of a two-string, five-stage DOPOL ASC preheating tower, a three-pier rotary kiln and a POLYTRACK clinker cooler. The plant will be completed by two clinker silos with a total capacity of 60,000t, three 160tph ball mills, four cement silos with a capacity of up to 80,000t and a packaging plant equipped with four 3000 bag/hour packaging lines. Monitoring and quality control will be provided by a POLAB system.

Operation of the plant is expected to commence in early 2019.
