Hanson UK is showcasing a range of specialist concretes at the Concrete and Masonry Pavilion at Ecobuild 2017, at the Excel in London 7-9 March 2017.
Stand D129 will include Regen® GGBS (ground granulated blast furnace slag), a low-carbon cement replacement manufactured from a byproduct of the iron-making industry. It reduces the carbon impact of concrete through both its manufacture and its use, replacing 1t of Portland cement with 1t of Regen® reduces its embodied CO2 by around 850kg.
Regen® helps enable sustainable construction – the theme of the Hanson stand – and can be incorporated into all of the company’s specialist concrete products, including Fibrecrete® and Hanson’s Watertight concrete, which will also be highlighted at Ecobuild.
In addition, Hanson will be launching a new specialist concrete product at the event while experts from the company will be running a series of short seminars on the stand. Visitors will also be able to sign up to attend a full Regen® CPD presentation.
Paul Lacey, head of sustainability at Hanson UK, said: "As we work towards our environmental targets for 2020, we are developing new products to aid sustainable construction through reduced energy, greater use of recycled material and reduced raw materials and we look forward to sharing these at Ecobuild."
