Gebr Pfeiffer (GPSE), together with co-sponsor Beumer, hosted a two-day event in Johannesburg, South Africa, focussed on vertical grinding and conveying solutions for the cement industries in southern and eastern Africa.
Taking place on 9-10 May 2017, invited guests were given detailed insights into modern process trends through a series of expert presentations, while lunches, a gala dinner and the relaxed surroundings of the Radisson Blue Gautrain provided ample networking opportunities.
GPSE Executive Director, Patrick Heyd, delivered the first presentation, taking the audience through the characteristics and the world-record references of Gebr Pfeiffer’s MVR mill. Following on, Dr Caroline Woywadt, GPSE director of Process Technology, then discussed the process optimisation features for which the MVR mill has been designed. Senior Sales Engineer Falk Werner rounded off the first day of papers with a focus on the company's ready2grind modular grinding plant system, recently commissioned in Eastern Africa. "The overwhelming reaction during the question and answer session and beyond confirmed the relevance of the speedy modular design for the African entrepreneur," Gebr Pfeiffer noted.
The second day of the event saw Beumer Area Manager Holger Schneider discuss state-of-the-art clinker conveying, the advanced features of the belt bucket elevators and the modern packaging and palletising range of the German co-sponsor.
GPSE Director of After-sales Services and Spares, Rainer Krüper, concluded the event with a detailed presentation on client support options performed worldwide by Gebr Pfeiffer to extend the lifetime of grinding equipment.
Overall, Gebr Pfeiffer said the the event proved to be highly "beneficial" for those looking to learn more on modern vertical milling and conveying trends to meet production requirements for cement manufacturers based in southern and eastern Africa.
