Adocem, the Dominican Association of Portland Cement Producers, recently presented its “Road map for a low-carbon economy”. The initiative aims to improve awareness of new alternatives for reducing CO2 emissions and technological innovations while at the same time, remove barriers to moving towards a low-carbon economy.
The initiative is led by the Inter-American Cement Federation (FICEM), which plans to define and implement an action plan for carbon mitigation and adaptation to climate change in the Latin American cement industry, based on the global and local challenges presented by the Conference of Parties 21, Paris.
Adocem President, Rayza Rodríguez, stated that the implementation of the roadmap will help the cement industry in Latin America in adopting the commitments made at COP21.
