Pakistan's large-scale manufacturing sector increased by 5.6 per cent during FY16-17 compared with the previous year, with government officials attributing this growth to progress achieved in a number of industries, including the cement sector.

According to the country's Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan's cement output increased by 4.48 per cent YoY to 37.02Mt.

However, in the final month (June 2017) of fiscal year FY16-17, production declined by 11.16 per cent YoY to 2.651Mt. The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers' Association said that construction activity slowed during the month of June due to Ramadan, thereby impacting production levels.
