Fauji Cement Company Ltd’s (FCCL) of Pakistan is making efforts to revive production from Line II following an accident last year which affected plant production. According to local research house, the company has taken the advantage of the line's needed reconstruction to expand its capacity from original 7200tpd to 7600tpd.
FCCL suffered depressed operations in FY17 post collapse of its 2.16Mt clinker silo in May 2016, which halted operations of the line. However, the company is expected to recommence its extended line by the end of October 2017.
Moreover, FCCL is also in the process of installing a 9MW waste heat recovery power plant (WHRPP) which will be connected to the 3700tpd Line I and a 16MW dual-fuel captive power plant for its heat requirements. The WHRPP will help the cement producer to reduce its power costs by an estimated 10-15 per cent once it enters operation, which is expected by March 2018.
