The bid to block LafargeHolcim burning tyres at its plant in Brookfield, Nova Scotia, Canada, has been rejected by a Supreme Court judge, according to CBC News.
Following the alternative fuel project receiving green-light approval from the Environment Minister, opponents of the plans went to court seeking a judicial review of the minister’s decision.
"In taking a wide-angled perspective, it is apparent that there is no support for the applicants' primary ground on this judicial review. When I evaluate the minister's decision as an organic whole, I find it easily passes muster and must be regarded as an outcome within the range of reason," said Justice James Chipman.
