The third LNG-powered cement carrier for Erik Thun AB of Sweden is scheduled for launch in mid-2019.
Cryonorm Systems will supply its liquefied natural gas fuel system. This ship will be a sister ship of the mv Greenland and mv Ireland which both are currently sailing with a 130m3 Cryonorm LNG fuel system onboard.
Shipbuilder Ferus Smit and Cryonorm Systems reached an agreement early March to partner in this important project. The new order consists of a turnkey supply Marine LNG fuel system with an increased tank size of 200m3 vertical shaped vacuum insulated type C installed inside the bow of the vessel hull.
"The fact that Erik Thun and KGJ Cement continue to invest in LNG fuelled vessels and the trust we receive from both Thun, KGJS and Smit is the confirmation of our good position in the market as a reliable supplier of LNG fuel systems," said Jos Glorie, business development director of Cryonorm Systems.
