DG Khan Cement Co Ltd (DGKC), informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it has completed the installation of country's largest cement plant of 9000tpd at Hub, Baluchistan province, near Karachi.
DGKC's Company Secretary, Khalid Mahmood Chohan told Cemnet that this greenfield project was set up at a cost of over PKR40bn (US$345.3m) and has installed the latest European technology.
A notification of the company says, "The largest vertical cement grinding mill with Cope drive has started trial operations together with cement silos and packing plant. Also, successful commissioning has been completed in raw material crushing, transportation and storage departments."
The cement produced in the trial run is being dispatched to customers. However, an announcement of commercial production will be made in due course of time.
DG Khan Cement is amongst largest the cement manufacturers of Pakistan with a production capacity of 14,000tpd (4.2Mt.) DGKCC has three cement plants, two plants located at Dera Ghazi Khan and one at Khairpur Distt. Chakwal.

According to the company's 2017 annual report, the brownfield project with a clinker capacity of up to 2.2Mta at the Dera Ghazi Khan site is still on table, but its execution is deferred until the economic case for the project improves.
