LafargeHolcim France is installing a new blending facility at its Dunkerque Nord grinding plant to increase the unit’s capacity.
With equipment supplied by Wamservira will enable the grinding plant to produce low-carbon cement. The EUR3.5m investment is located in the heart of the Port of Dunkerque on a 2.5ha site.
Work started on 26 May with the construction of the foundations. The dosing equipment, mixers and silos will be installed before commissioning in early 2019.
"With a strong growth in production since its opening, our Dunkerque site is a major player in the industrial fabric of the Hauts-de-France region," says Bénédicte de Bonnechose, general manager of LafargeHolcim France. “Today, this investment of EUR3.5m allows us to continue the development of the site and modernise our production to offer our customers sustainable materials with a reduced carbon footprint."
