Holcim Philippines has announced that it intends to raise the capacity of its facility in La Union, Luzon, from 1Mta to 1.8Mta by the first half of 2019, to further support the construction activity on the island. The company is currently installing new equipment and storage facilities at the plant, while implementing efficiency initiatives in its Bulacan, Manila and Batangas facilities.
"Holcim Philippines remains committed to the development of Luzon and the entire country and we intend to continue being so for many decades more. These expansion and efficiency initiatives help ensure a reliable supply of high-quality cement that enable our partners to build better with certainty the many ongoing and upcoming construction projects in the region," said John Stull, president and CEO, Holcim Philippines.
The projects are part of the company’s continued efforts to boost its nationwide cement capacity to 12Mta in 2019.
