Grinding specialist Gebr Pfeiffer has received the order for a coal grinding system to be installed at Samrat Cement Co Pvt Ltd’s new plant in the Dang region of southern Nepal.

While the new kiln system will be supplied by KHD, the German contractor has ordered a MPS 225 BK coal mill from Gebr Pfeiffer to produce pulverised coal for the coal-fired kiln. The mill with a drive power of 370kW will grind 35tph of coal to a product fineness of 15 per cent R 90µm. At the same time, the coal, with a potential feed moisture of up to 10 per cent, is dried in the mill.

An integrated high-efficiency classifier, type SLS 1800 BK, separates the ground coal into fine product and coarse product, with the latter being returned to the grinding zone for another grinding cycle. The classifier would also enable   the separation of petcoke to fineness degrees of <1 per cent R 90µm.

Gebr Pfeiffer will also provide the manufacturing drawings for the required ductwork, chutes and other parts that can be manufactured on-site.
