India’s Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd has receive the support of the local population for the proposed new cement works at Kapilas Cement Manufacturing Works in a public hearing held at Suniapada on 27 November.
The new plant will meet the increasing demand for cement in eastern India and the public consent will support the company’s bid for environmental clearance to set up the plant. Earlier Dalmia had applied to the state government to set up a new 2.5Mta works, lifting capacity at Kapilas to 4.2Mta.
Deputy Executive Director and plant manager of Kapilas Cement, Manoranjan Sahoo, said Dalmia Cement (Bharat) will provide a sustainable living for the local community and will continue to work together in the years to come.” The huge investment, he added, is set to open the gates of increased productivity, a promise of employment and an overall socio-economic development.
