Paraguay-based Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC) closed 2018 with a delivery record of 12,964,917 bags of cement. In 2017 INC delivered 12,702,486t, up from the 12,659,924t it dispatched in 2016.
During the last three months of the year, cement dispatches at the company returned to normal and enabled the company to replenish its stocks and meet back orders.
Javier Rodríguez, head of the company, said that the record “highlighted the capacity of INC to overcome any difficult moment’. When Mr Rodríguez took on the administration of the company, INC had an order backlog of 1.5m of cement.
To help meet delivery requirements, the cement producer bought some 36,000t of clinker at US$88/t. Last time the company purchased clinker, it paid US$103/t.
