Cemex has announced a series of changes to its management structure which will come into force on 1 February 2019. Juan Romero Torres, current president of Cemex Mexico, has been appointed executive vice president of Global Commercial Development. This new role aims to capitalise on the progress that the company has achieved in its Customer Centricity strategy and provide it with a formal structure, according to a press release. As a result, Ricardo Naya Barba, current president of Cemex Colombia, will become president of Cemex Mexico.
Elsewhere, Jaime Gerardo Elizondo Chapa, president of Cemex Europe, will assume the new role of executive vice president of Global Supply Chain Development. The position has been designed to develop the company’s supply chain capabilities and gain additional efficiencies in end-to-end operations. Following this change, current Distribution Channel Vice President for Cemex Mexico, Sergio Mauricio Menendez Medina, has been appointed president of Cemex Europe.
"Strengthening capabilities and experiences in our Executive Committee has been priority as we evolve Cemex to continue making progress towards our business priorities and capitalising on new opportunities," said Fernando Gonzalez, CEO, Cemex. "Our people are our greatest asset and I have confidence that our new leaders will build a stronger Cemex," said Mr Gonzalez.
