SCG Cambodia, a subsidiary of the Siam Cement Group, yesterday announced that revenue from sales in 2018 grew by 15 per cent, rising to US$396m. Revenue from sales in 4Q18 reached US$96m, SCG Cambodia said.

Cambodia Constructors Association General Manager, Chiv Sivpheng, said demand for construction materials has been rising annually as the kingdom's construction industry grows. With increasing population and urbanisation, Mr Sivpheng said the construction industry is expected to continue expanding and benefit local producers.

"The outlook for the Cambodian construction sector will remain good and [the expansion] will provide significant opportunities for local producers to set up production or expand production lines to obtain advantages from the trend," he said.

SCG President, Roongrote Rangsiyopash, said: "In 2019 SCG will continue to focus on two key strategies. One is stability, which the company has maintained continuously and acted promptly to cope with recent global economic volatility, resulting in overall profitability ratios of nine per cent, a considerably strong figure compared to the overall industry performance."

"SCG will [also] continue to expand opportunities to export innovative products and services following up on the global market direction to meet the consumer needs," he added.
