Roanoke Cement Co and its parent company, Titan America, announced this week that it has obtained ISO 50001 certification for its Troutville plant in Virginia – the first cement plant in the country.
ISO 50001, sponsored by the US Department of Energy, is an energy management system standard that is established as a voluntary programme of best practices in continuous energy improvement.
"ISO 50001 is a signature achievement for a manufacturing plant," says Brian Allder, Roanoke’s plant manager. "RCC's energy management system owes its long-term success to the continued commitment of our leadership -- who embraced it from the get-go -- empowering energy management at every level."
