Kohat Cement Ltd, has awarded scholarships to engineering students of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar, Pakistan. As part of its social corporate responsibility to help local communities in education sector, the deserving students belonging to Kohat have been awarded these scholarships to cover their tuition fee. This was stated by Col Anjmal Khan (retired), general manager admin, Kohat Cement in an award distribution ceremony, held recently.
Chancellor, UET Peshawar Professor Dr Ifitikhar Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion, who appreciated the efforts of Kohat Cement for supporting the students.
Col Ajmal Khan (retired), general manager Kohat Cement Ltd said, as the oldest cement industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the company realises the importance of supporting communities and ensuring their well-being as its shared vision. In the education sector, Kohat Cement is actively engaged in providing quality primary education to the children in collaboration with 'The Country School'. Similarly, every year Kohat Cement hires 25 graduates from public sector universities as MTOs and train them for one year so that they get ample chances of employment.
He further said, Kohat Cement Ltd works in empowering rural women and provides skill training and loans and number of outreach programmes are to its credit.
