Peru’s Cementos Yura (Gloria Group) has reported a 43 per cent YoY fall in profit to PEN56.5m (US$16.67m) for the second quarter of 2019. Cement sales were down 0.3 per cent to PEN231.3m in the 2Q19, while dispatches to external markets fell 22 per cent.

Production between April-June reached 602,031t, decreasing five per cent compared to the year-ago period. In particular, clinker production fell 18 per cent to 331,707t due to a scheduled maintenance halt.

However, results are expected to lift from June onwards as consumption increases on the back of further construction works in the north of the country.
