Holcim Argentina subsidiary Geocycle has signed an agreement with Argentina’s Minister of Production, Labour and Sustainable Development, Graciela Pinal de Cid to enable the co-processing of tyres.
Ms Pinal de Cid said: "Today we are initiating a framework agreement with the company Geocycle, belonging to the firm Holcim Argentina, to solve a situation that involves society as a whole, such as tires out of use." She added: “We will generate a joint work agenda between the province and the municipalities to determine the collection areas and find the most efficient way to remove this waste from the municipalities."
Meanwhile Oscar Enríquez, manager of Geocycle Argentina, said: “This method is called co-processing and is a sustainable way to manage waste."
