Cement dispatches in Peru declined by two per cent in November 2022 to 1.167Mt from 1.185Mt in November 2021, reports domestic cement association, Asocem. Of this total, 1.119Mt were dispatched by Asocem members, who saw their deliveries slip by one per cent YoY.
Cement production from Peruvian cement plants was down four per cent to 1.114Mt in November 2022 from 1.157Mt in November 2021. Clinker output edged up by one per cent YoY to 0.922Mt in November 2022.
Cement exports fell by 45 per cent YoY to 12,000t in November 2022 while clinker exports decreased by two per cent YoY to 34,000t.
To supplement domestic production in November 2022, 6000t of cement was imported, down 89 per cent YoY. Of this total, 3900t was supplied by Vietnam and 2100t by Chile. Clinker imports saw a two per cent uptick YoY to 121,000t. The UAE supplied 44,000t of clinker, followed by South Korea, which supplied 43,000t, and Ecuador, which imported 33,000t into Peru.
