Lucky Cement Ltd informed Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on 22 December that construction and installation work concerning the brownfield expansion of the additional line of 3.15Mta at its manufacturing site at Pezu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), has been completed within the planned project timelines. 

In a regulatory filing, GM Finance and Company Secretary, Faisal Mahmood, said the new line is operational and clinker production commenced on 22 December 2022. The company’s total production capacity (including northern and southern plants) has increased to 15.3Mta from the previous capacity of 12.15Mta.

After successfully completing the brownfield expansion, Lucky Cement becomes Pakistan's largest manufacturer and exporter of cement and clinker.

Lucky Cement’s overall cement manufacturing capacity, including facilities in Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo, now stands at 19.7Mta. Besides the cement segment, Lucky’s industrial footprint, through its subsidiaries, includes power generation, automobiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and mobile phone assembly.
