Norm Cement to use sludge at Qizildas

Norm Cement LLC of Azerbaijan has agreed with the State Oil Co of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to use the sludge left after drilling wells to fire its kilns as part of its circular economy drive.

"In collaboration with SOCAR, we tried sludge to power Norm Sement last year. Negotiations on a long-term deal are underway. Cooperation to use industrial waste supports the country's green economy strategy," according to an unnamed source of Trend.

Norm Cement operates a 2.1Mta integrated plant in Qizildas, Garadagh district, Baku.
