João Paulo Pereira da Silva has been appointed as new manager of Kirchdorfer Zementwerk in Austria. He succeeds Erich Frommwald, who held the position for more than 21 years and will spent more time to the overall management of the Kirchdorfer Group

Mr Pereira, a trained mechanical engineer with an MBA, brings more than 25 years of international management experience from the cement industry. His career includes management positions at Lafarge and Holcim in Brazil, France and Austria. He has been working at Kirchdorfer since October 2022, working on the further development of the company's sustainability strategy and the Road and Traffic business. He has also led the Construction Minerals department. 

"Our challenge will be to intelligently combine tradition and innovation. Our vertical integration and sustainability are our key priorities," he said.

Kirchdorf's cement plant has a cement capacity of 0.55Mta and employs 140 employees.
