Cement Industries of Malaysia Bhd (CIMA), a subsidiary of UEM Group Bhd, has introduced NS OptimoCrete, Malaysia's first 52.5 grade Portland limestone cement (PLC).
NS OptimoCrete is available in both bulk and 50kg bag forms, with the latter marketed as NS OptimoCast. CIMA said this sets a new benchmark in versatility by offering robust solutions for various applications, including ready-mixed concrete, precast components, bridge decks, grouts, soil stabilisation and full-depth pavement reclamation. It added that the product offers superior strength compared to currently available blended cements, ensuring exceptional quality and durability.

The company noted that NS OptimoCrete was developed over 12 months and not only meets the high standards of traditional OPC in terms of compressive strength and durability, but it could also outperform OPC specifically in workability and finish quality, all while providing significant environmental benefits.
With the capability to reduce embodied CO2 by up to 10 per cent, it actively helps decrease the carbon footprint associated with construction activities.CIMA said the launch builds on the successful introduction of its green products since 2010, including NS EcoCrete, NS EcoCreteLow Heat and NS Ezicast.
