Mahabal Cement has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a INR110bn (US$1.26bn) investment in a new cement complex at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
The new plant would be located in the Dima Hasan district of Assam, India. The first phase would see the construction of a clinker plant and a grinding unit, along with a ready-mix concrete plant and AC block.
"Under the leadership of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam is growing by leaps and bounds, and we as an organisation want to partner in the growth of the state, and for that we have signed an MoU with the CM and the government of Assam. The MoU amount is about 11,000 crores, and we're going to invest that 11,000 crores in phases,” said a company spokesperson.
