In 1946, Forrest T. Silfies bought his first tractor to transport coal from the Lehigh Valley region in Pennsylvania. In 1959, Forrest transported the first load of cement from the Whitehall Cement plant in the Lehigh Valley and from starting out as a small trucking business in Danielsville, Pennsylvania, today F.T. Silfies Inc. has grown to become a leader in the Bulk Cement Transportation Industry. Today, with a corporate location in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, F.T. Silfies, Inc. has satellite terminals throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions including Fleetwood and Stockertown,Pennsylvania and Manchester, Maryland. Today, F.T. Silfies, Inc. is owned by Quantum Equity Partners of McLean, VA. A private equity firm that focuses on the acquisition of privately held middle market companies with sustained growth and significant operating history. Most of the third generation Silfies family still holds executive positions in the company. F.T. Silfies, Inc. specializes in bulk cement and lime transport, including transporting related bulk commodities such as sand, flyash and newcem, along with other products such as bag cement, brick, block and numerous other construction materials by flatbed. Our fleet of self contained storage vessels allow us to meet the customer demands and handle jobs of all sizes. With our large fleet of tractors traveling the highways every day, it is up to us to set the standard in our industry with professional courteous drivers, on time deliveries and safe reliable equipment.
