Pakistan achieved record monthly sales in July, increasing by 44 per cent YoY to 3.382Mt during the month led by robust growth in domestic demand. Pakistan cement output up 6.6% YoY

Cement output in Pakistan during the first 10 months (July-April) of FY17 increased by 2.12 per cent on a MoM basis and 6.63 per cent on a YoY basis.   According to data released by the country's Federal Bureau of Statistics, the domestic cement industry produced 3.33Mt in April 2017 compared to 3.258Mt in April 2016.   On cumulative basis, during July-April 2017 cement production totalled 31.12Mt vs 29.17Mt in the same period a year earlier. Odisha's State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Friday gave Ambuja Cement the go-ahead to construct a 1.5Mta cement grinding unit. Ube Industries increases stake in Tokyo Cement

Japan-based Ube Industries' Singapore subsidiary Ube Singapore Holdings has acquired a further 10.62m shares in Sri Lanka-based Tokyo Cement Company Lanka Plc, for LKR764.6m (US$5m), a stock exchange filling said. As at 31 March 2017, Ube Singapore Holdings held a share of over two per cent (4.4m shares) in Tokyo Cement. With this new acquisition its shareholding has increased to over 10 per cent.
