Cementos Molins posted profits of EUR15.36m for Jan-Mar 2016, up 1.7 per cent YoY. However, sales reached EUR130.69m, 10.2 per cent down when compared with 1Q15. Cementos Molins posted a consolidated net profit of EUR50.8m in 2015, representing a 65 per cent rise YoY. Spain's Cementos Molins registered a net profit of EUR41.9m in the first nine months of the year, up 37.6 per cent YoY, according to the company. Total sales reached EUR473m, an increase of nearly 22 per cent YoY while operating profit reached EUR19.07m, advancing 1.9 per cent when compared with a year ago. Cementos Molins to enter Colombian market

Cementos Molins has signed an agreement to enter the Colombian cement market with local home and construction specialist Corona. The Spanish cement producer plans to build a EUR335m cement works in Antioquia. The plant will have a capacity of 1.35Mta and is scheduled to come online in mid-2018. The production facility will provide 220 direct and 250 indirect jobs during operation and an average of 800 jobs during the construction phase, according to local press reports.

Spanish cement producer Cementos Molins reported a net profit of EUR15.1m in 1Q15, up 132 per cent YoY from EUR6.5m in 1Q14. Although domestic sales improved by 7.1 per cent, the company said the advance was “insufficient”. EBITDA reached EUR2.1m, but net profit remained in the red. Cementos Molins of Spain plans the acquisition of a majority stake in Bolivia's Cementos Itacamba. The purchase is expected to take place via Spain-based Yacuces, a joint venture with Brazil-based Votorantim Cimentos, which is also its associate in Argentina (Cementos Avellaneda) and Uruguay (Cementos Artigas). Cementos Molins recorded a profit of EUR17.9m in the first half of 2014, effectively more than doubling its 1H13 figure, on the back of its international business, said the company. The cement company increased its overseas profit by 2.9 per cent to EUR31.6m, but its Spanish subsidiaries recorded a EUR13.6m loss, 39 per cent below the 1H13 level.
