Cementarnica Usje sees profit up 20%

North Macedonia's Cementarnica Usje (Titan) has seen a 20 per cent YoY increase in net profit to MKD1.5bn (US$29.3m) for 2020. Operating revenue edged up to MKD5.06bn from MKD5.03bn in 2019. Domestic sales rose three per cent YoY to MKD3.2bn, while sales on foreign markets fell 2.6 per cent to MKD1.6bn. Operating expenses also dropped by 5.9 per cent YoY to MKD3.4bn in 2020, as costs for materials were down 11.5 per cent to MKD1.5bn.

LafargeHolcim Poland orders Gebr Pfeiffer VRM

LafargeHolcim Poland has ordered a vertical roller mill for cement raw material grinding from Gebr Pfeiffer for its Malogoszcz plant, approximately 200km south of Warsaw. The mill will grind 307tph of cement raw material to a fineness of 12 per cent R0.090mm and is equipped with a total drive power of 2500kW. Gorazdze Cement (HeidelbergCement group) is being supplied solar electricity from BayWa r.e. for the next decade. Cementarnica Usje BoD president resigns

The president of the Board of North Macedonia-based Cementarnica Usje, Konstantinos Derdemezis, has resigned due to undisclosed reasons. The position will be filled by Yanni Paniaras until the next shareholders’ meeting, said the company in a bourse filing. Mr Paniaras is serving as delegated director in the Board of Directors of Greece-based Titan, Cementarnica Usje’s parent company.
