Cement consumption in the first nine months of this year fell by 22 per cent YoY to 8.3Mt, latest data from domestic association Oficemen shows. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) reported a 9.5 per cent YoY rise in sales for the first nine months of 2013 to 15.84Mt, meeting 72.3 per cent of its full-year target. Cement producers in Vietnam increased their output 13 per cent MoM and 17.6 per cent YoY to 5.2Mta in September, according to the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO). Cement consumption in Spain continues its freefall with the figure for August down more than 23 per cent to 886,005t. Production fell by 7.7 per cent from 1,308,090t to 1,207,891t in August, according to the latest figures by the country’s cement association, Oficemen.
