Cement consumption in Argentina fell by 13.1 per cent YoY and 20.5 per cent MoM to 810,314t in December 2023, down from 932,660t in December 2022, reports the Argentine cement producers’ association, AFCP. In December 2023 cement sales in Brazil edged up by 0.8 per cent YoY to 4.497Mt from 4.463Mt in December 2022, according to the Brazilian cement association, SNIC. Bangladesh has recorded 91 per cent YoY growth in cement export revenue to US$8.96m in the first six months (July-December 2023) of FY23-24 from US$4.69m in the same six months of the previous year, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Pakistan's cement dispatches increased by 4.6 per cent in December 2023 to 4.06Mt against 3.881Mt dispatched in December 2022. Cement dispatches in Peru declined by nine per cent YoY to 1.063Mt in November 2023 from 1.166Mt in November 2022, according to the country’s cement association, ASOCEM.
