Vietnamese cement sales fall 19% YoY

Cement sales in Vietnam reached 6,161,029t in March 2023, down 19 per cent YoY but up 51 per cent MoM, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Of this total, 2,013,276t were sold by VICEM . This represents a drop of 18 per cent YoY but a 72 per cent increase MoM. Brazil’s cement market contracted by two per cent to 5.398Mt in March 2023 from 5.507Mt in March 2022, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Argentine cement consumption up 6% in March

Argentina’s cement market expanded by 6.4 per cent in March 2023 as 1,114,722t of cement were supplied, compared to 1,047,227t in March 2022, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Compared with February 2023, the advance was 24.4 per cent. Italian cement production increased by four per cent YoY in January 2023, according to the country’s construction chamber, Federbeton. When compared with the 2015 base index production the value slipped from 69 in December to 66 in January. Bangladesh has reported 48.7 per cent YoY growth in cement export revenue to US$9.68m in the 9MFY22-23 (July 2022-March 2023). This compares to US$6.51m in the same period a year earlier.   The value of the target set for this period also saw a healthier growth of 20.7 per cent. Total cement dispatches (local sales and exports) in Pakistan fell 24 per cent YoY in March to 3.795Mt, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Cement consumption in Spain has fallen 7.1 per cent YoY to 1,175,290t in February, reports Oficemen. Domestic cement dispatches in Vietnam increased by 16 per cent YoY to 4,080,321t in February 2023, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA).
