FLSmidth reports 55% increase in 1Q EBITA

FLSmidth posted a 1Q24 total revenue of DKK4839m, down 19.6 per cent YoY from DKK6016m. Total order intake was down 6.8 per cent YoY to DKK5248m from DKK5632m. However, EBITA increased by 55.3 per cent to DKK365m in the 1Q24 from DKK235m. The EBITA margin stood at 7.5 per cent. FLSmidth will provide expertise and supervisory support to SSBIL for its operations and maintenance contract with Abayak Cement ’s plant in Akoga , on the mainland of Equatorial Guinea. Gharibwal Cement Ltd (GWLC) of Pakistan announced its half-year financial results ending 31 December 2023, on 26 February 2024. The company saw a decrease in its profit to PKR685m (US$2.45m) in 1HFY23-24 from PKR1.12bn earned in the same period last year. This translated to a fall of 39.2 per cent in profit YoY. With reference to the announcement made on 22 January 2024, FLSmidth Cement has now closed the sale of its MAAG gears and drives business to the Swedish investment company, Solix Group AB. The transaction does not change FLSmidth’s previously-announced financial guidance for the full year 2023.

Mannok’s greater fuel flexibility

FLSmidth reports 39% increase in net profit

In its consolidated results of 2023, Denmark-based FLSmidth reported a 10 per cent increase in revenue to DKK24,106m from DKK21,849m in 2022. The company’s gross profit increased by 20 per cent YoY to DKK6087m from DKK5076m in 2022, resulting in an improved profit margin of 25.3 per cent in 2023 from 23.2 per cent in the previous year. FLSmidth has released its 4Q23 and full-year 2023 preliminary and unaudited results. The cement business recorded revenues of DKK1.4bn (US$203.3m) in the 4Q23 and DKK6bn in 2023. EBITDA margin for the cement business grew by 7.4 per cent in the 4Q23 and by 6.7 per cent in 2023. The order intake for the 4Q23 in the cement business totalled DKK1bn and in 2023 it reached DKK4.9bn.
