Holcim has hosted the official groundbreaking ceremony for its new cement import terminal at the Port of Timaru. Member of Parliament for Rangitata, Hon Jo Goodhew planted a tree to celebrate the groundbreaking. Authorities in Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh will remove 7000l of toxic oil from the edge of the Ha Long Bay and dispose of it at Holcim's cement plant in Mekong Delta. August cement shipments in the US state of Texas advanced 15.2 per cent than in the same period of 2013, according to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Holcim saw its dispatches rise by 39 per cent in August and by 28 per cent in the first eight months of 2014.
