India: Shree Cement orders three kiln lines from KHD

Shree Cement has awarded KHD three more kiln lines to install, each with a capacity of 6000tpd, the first being a second line at Shree’s Raipur plant. This new line will be built in Karnataka using a three-string preheater, six-stage preheater and wil include a three-pier rotary kiln (5.4/5.m x 75m), plus a Pyrojet ® burner and Pyrostep ® clinker cooler. Shree Cement has already implemented 11 KHD high-efficiency kiln lines and several grinding stations, including 10 KHD roller presses....

India: Sagar Cements sales down 13.7% for 1HFY16-17

Sagar Cements has released its sales and production figures for the period to August 2016, reports Accord Fintech. These show that sales at the company fell by 13.73 per cent to 0.665Mt in the period April-August 2016 when compared to those of a year earlier. Production also declined, but less severely, being down by 1.52 per cent to 0.66Mt. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has levied a fine of INR63.2bn (US$944m) on 10 cement companies whom it accuses of conspiring to fix prices in contravention of competition law. Birla Corporation announced that is has completed the acquisition of Reliance Infrastructure subsidiary, Reliance Cement. The deal was valued at about INR48bn (US$715.6m).
