The Indian National Capital Region’s (NCR) Commission for Air Quality Management has reminded all industrial and other sectors not to use unapproved fuels, including coal, from 1 January 2023 or face immediate closure with heavy fines. The dispute over freight rates continues to run after two weeks, forcing the closure of two cement plants in Himachal Pradesh, as talks between truck operators and the management of the Darlaghat (Ambuja Cements) and Barmana (ACC Ltd) plants fail to yield any results. Work begins on Ramco Cement's expansion

Work has reportedly begun on the second production line at Ramco Cement ’s grinding plant in Haridaspur , Jaipur District, Odisha, India. The US$16m expansion project will increase capacity at the plant from 0.9Mta to 1.8Mta. The company received environmental clearance for the new line in May 2022 and expects the project to be completed in the 1QFY25.
