Ramco Cements has announced capex of INR12-13bn (US$154-167m) to expand its production capacity over the next two years. At its Kurnool plant, trial production of clinker is now underway and with this, clinker capacity has expanded to 13.65Mta. Star Cement invests in new capacity

Star Cement is planning to invest INR17,000-18,000m (US$218.9m-231.8m) over the next two years, in response to robust demand from the infrastructure and real estate sectors. The company currently operates two clinker units in Meghalaya with a total capacity of around 2.75Mta. Jindal to build new 2.5Mta plant in Raigarh

India’s Jindal Group and the Chhattisgarh government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new cement plant in Raigarh district in the easternmost part of Chhattisgarh State. According to reports in the Times of India, the new facility will have a production capacity of around 2.5Mta of cement and 2.5Mta of clinker. The plant will also have a 12MW waste heat recovery system.

HeidelbergCement India has recorded a one per cent YoY increase in revenue (net of taxes) to INR5867m (US$75.65m) in the first quarter of 2022. EBITDA over the same period has fallen 22.1 per cent to INR1186m, with the EBITDA margin contracting from 26.2 to 20.2 per cent. Shree Cement sees 4% increase in revenue in 1Q22

Shree Cement has reported a 3.9 per cent YoY uptick in revenue to INR40.99bn (US$527.8m) in the opening quarter of 2022. Sales volumes over the same period slipped two per cent to 8Mt, while EBITDA declined to INR10.49bn, compared to INR13.04bn in the 1Q21.
