UltraTech Cement begins operations at Navi Mumbai terminal20 December 2021, Published under Cement NewsIndia’s UltraTech Cement has begun operations at its bulk terminal in Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai. As the company’s 7th bulk terminal, it has a 1.2Mta capacity and is expected to strengthen its bulk cement sales in the region. Cement will be brought in bulk rakes to this terminal from UltraTech’s manufacturing units at Solapur, Maharashtra, and Malkhed, Karnataka. This will effectively help in reducing the freight cost, with an increase in the usage of rail transportation. |
Foundation stone for Shree Cement's Punjab plant16 December 2021, Published under Cement NewsThe Punjab Chief Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, has laid the foundation stones of Shree Cement’s Punjab plant at Deh Kalan village, and a medical college at Ghabdan village with a total cost of INR1050m (US$13.7m). The chief minister said that the 5Mta project have an estimated cost of INR700m, and includes a captive railway siding. The plant site and rail siding have a total land area of 42ha and will require 32MW of power, he added. |

Dalmia's Bokaro expansion project gets underway07 December 2021, Published under Cement NewsA foundation stone for Dalmia Bharat Cement’s Bokaro expansion project in Jharkhand, India, has been laid by Hemant Soren, chief minister of the state. The project represents an investment of INR5.67bn (US$75.15m) and is expected to be completed within a year. Through debottlenecking works and the addition of the 2Mta grinding line, capacity at the plant is expected to increase from 3.7Mta to 6.2Mta.
