Ramco Cements enhances Kolimigundla clinker capacity

Bangladesh has recorded 90.2 per cent YoY growth in cement export revenue to US$6.98m in the first five months of FY23-24 (July-November 2023) from US$3.67m in the same five months of the previous year, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Pakistan’s cement industry registered a contraction of 2.12 per cent in dispatches during November 2023, with total cement shipments coming in at 3.924Mt versus 4.009Mt in November 2022. Kesoram Industries Ltd has decided to demerge its cement business and has approached UltraTech Cement Ltd in relation to the same.  The Board of Directors of UltraTech, after considering the recommendation and report of the Audit Committee and the Committee of Independent Directors, at its meeting held on 30 November 2023, considered Kesoram’s proposal and have approved a Composite Scheme of Arrangement to demerge Kesoram's cement business into Ultra Tech Cement.
