The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated UltraTech’s carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions reduction targets. In July 2020 the company had committed to set ‘science-based targets’ to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. UltraTech Cement Ltd saw consolidated net sales of INR142,320m (US$1.94bn) in the 1Q21 vis-à-vis INR106,890m over the corresponding period of the previous year. Thal Ltd, a subsidiary of House of Habib and paper bag manufacturer to a range of industries including Pakistan's cement companies, is setting up a plant to manufacture polypropylene woven bags in Hub with an investment of PKR1.7bn (US$11m). Ambuja Cement will complete its integrated greenfield cement plant at Mundwa in Rajasthan with învestment of INR23,500m (US$314.4m) in   3Q21. Birla Cement is to benefit from new open access solar power project

Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar module manufacturer has supplied 330wp & 335wp solar modules for a 28MWp captive solar open access project in Uttar Pradesh that will supply power to Birla Corporation Ltd (MP Birla Cement).   This is the first captive open access project commissioned in Uttar Pradesh under the Uttar Pradesh Connectivity Auction. Deccan Cement Ltd, based in Hyderabad, India, has ordered another vertical mill from Gebr Pfeiffer for its new kiln line at the Bhavanipuram plant in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Cement export from Pakistan remains fragile in 8MFY21

The Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) of Pakistan has released cement export and production data for the July 2020-February 2021 and July 2020-January 2021 periods, respectively.
