A new project has been launched in the village of Asgaran settlement of Khojaly district, Asgaran settlement, reported Kazakhstan Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov. Korcem clinker line is ignited

Sinoma (Liyang) Heavy Machinery has successfully ignited the 3500tpd (1.15Mta) clinker production line of the Korcem project in Kazakhstan. Sinoma (Liyang) Heavy Machinery carried out the project on an EPC basis. The new line project in Korday was begun at the end of 2021 and featured some delays. It will now be optimised to have a full cement capacity of 1.5Mta.

Steppe Cement reports 1H24 revenues of US$34m

Steppe Cement reported its 1H24 unaudited interim results with revenues amounting to US$34.4m, a seven per cent fall from US$36.9m in the corresponding period of 2023. International Cement Group (ICG) , which operates cement plants in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, has reported revenue of SGD257.4m (US$191.4m) in 2023, up 14 per cent on the SGD225.2m seen in the previous year. Kazakhstan-based Steppe Cement reported revenue of KZT3.779bn (US$8.4m) in the first quarter of 2024, down 23.5 per cent from KZT4.938bn in the year-ago period. The company's market share in Kazakhstan contracted to 11.5 per cent in the 1Q24 from 12.7 per cent in the 1Q23. Kazakhstan-based Steppe Cement Ltd has reported sales volumes of 749,034t of cement in the first half of 2023, down from 837,063t in the same period a year earlier. Revenue over the same period fell from KZT19,579m (US$44.09m) to KZT16,977m. The average price for delivered cement over the 1H23 stood at KZT22,665/t (ex-VAT), compared to KZT23,391/t in the first half of 2022. Kazakhstan-based Steppe Cement has reported sales of KZT4.94bn (US$10.96m) in the opening quarter of 2023, compared to KZT6.3bn in the same period a year earlier, representing a 21 per cent YoY decline. According to the Morning Star, in terms of cement volumes, over the same period sales fell from 281,968t to 214,832t, down 24 per cent YoY.
