Yanbu Cement full-year net profit rises 14.3%

Yanbu Cement Co’s net profit rose 14.3 per cent YoY to SAR832m (US$219.4m) in 2013, the company announced in a bourse filing. Operating profit increased to SAR847m from SAR757m in 2012. The company attributed the rise to higher sales without giving exact figures. The Saudi-based producer reported earnings per share of SAR5.23, up from SAR4.57.

Vietnam exports seen rising

Exports of cement and clinker are forecast to increase by 27 per cent this year compared to 2011, according to forecasts by the Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA). As as the country attempts to reduce excess supplies, the VNCA expects clinker exports this year to reach 6.2Mt and cement exports to be around the 1.5Mt mark, bringing overall volumes to 7.7Mt. Citigroup lowers Italcementi price target, Italy

Citigroup has lowered its price target on Italcementi to EUR3.60 from EUR4.10, after cutting by 15% the pre-tax profit estimates for the Italian cement producer in 2012 and 2013. During 9MFY2011-12 (July-March), Pakistan cement exporters saw recovery in cement exports in terms of value. In Pakistani currency, the export also rose by 6.06%.
